Overview
The RAK3172 is a low-power, long-range LoRaWAN transceiver module built on the STM32WLE5CC, which combines an ARM Cortex-M4 MCU and a LoRa radio in a single chip. Its SMD stamp footprint drops straight into custom sensor boards.
It complies with LoRaWAN 1.0.3 Class A, B and C and connects to network servers such as The Things Network, ChirpStack and Actility. It also supports LoRa point-to-point mode for private links without a gateway.
You can drive the module with a simple AT command set over UART, or write custom Arduino firmware using RAK's RUI3 API. Sleep current of around 1.69 μA makes multi-year battery operation realistic for field deployments.
